The Hydrographic Society of America - Houston Chapter's October Technical Meeting
Location: Texas T Tavern, 1535 Brittmoore Rd, Houston, TX 77043
Speaker: Brandon Mattox and Wes Roberts from NCS Survey / P-Cable
Topic: Ultra-High Resolution 3D Seismic Data Acquisition and Comparisons to Conventional Data.
Meal & Refreshments: Survey Equipment Services is our drink sponsor for the evening! Thank you to SES for their continuing supporting THOSA Houston.
There will be an introduction to the methodology and uses of the P-Cable system. Followed by some data samples and comparisons with previous methods.
Used for both 2D profiles, and 3D siesmic projects, the P-Cable systems can find geological structures with outcrop-like resolutions due to the high trace-density and small bin sizes. This is achieved with very tight line spacing and advanced hardware using a broad frequency spectrum for acquisition. The product from this has up to 4X the horizontal and vertical resolution compared to conventional 3D Marine seismic data.
